What is the Community of Practice?

The Community of Practice (CoP) is space for all Early Learning Professionals to come together, connect, exchange, create, inspire and appreciate each other. In this community everyone is equal, listened to and respected. We are united by our common passion for Early Learning and the drive to grow together. Everyone is welcome!

Moving forward the Community of Practice Meetings will be happening every last Thursday of the month, 5:30-7:30pm
at the YAEP Board room (2nd/black street) unless otherwise advertised.

Your Voice is needed!

Child Care Now is hosting online focus groups to talk with Yukon’s early childhood educators about qualifications and workforce roles. They want to hear what’s working, what’s not, and what you think needs to change.

This is a conversation just for Yukon ECEs and a great opportunity for our voices to be heard and drive change. These small group conversations will help shape future advocacy and policy recommendations. They’re especially looking for educators working in licensed, center-based programs as well as rural working educators.
Participants will be entered to win a $50 gift card to a store of your choice.

2024 Yukon ECE Survey on Working Conditions

Between September and November 2024, Early Childhood Educators Yukon, in collaboration with Child Care Now, conducted a workforce survey to better understand the experiences and challenges faced by early childhood educators across the territory. The findings shed light on key issues such as wages, community connections and professional development. These insights will inform our advocacy efforts and drive meaningful change for the ECE sector in Yukon.

Thank you to everyone who participated—your voices are essential in shaping the future of early childhood education in Yukon!

Researchers, students and policymakers interested in accessing the full dataset for further study can request it by contacting us.
