What is the Community of Practice?

The Community of Practice (CoP) is space for all Early Learning Professionals to come together, connect, exchange, create, inspire and appreciate each other. In this community everyone is equal, listened to and respected. We are united by our common passion for Early Learning and the drive to grow together. Everyone is welcome! No registration is needed - just come on by!

Moving forward the Community of Practice Meetings will be happening every last Thursday of the month, 5:30-7:30pm
at the YAEP Board room (2nd/black street) unless otherwise advertised.

Meet Our CoP Team

Shem Anog

Hi! Shem here.
I’m originally from the Philippines and have been here in Whitehorse for 3 years where I started my journey as an Early Learning Educator and earned my diploma at Yukon University. I host the CoP for Early Learning students and graduates in Whitehorse.
I enjoy singing, storytelling and exploring the forest trails of Whitehorse which I am looking forward to making a connection with the people I am working with. One of the things that drives me to become a better educator is through shared learning and exchange of ideas.

Hi. I'm Camille
and your host for the virtual Community of Practice for rural ECEs. I come from Belgium and I have been in the Yukon for many years and lived in different smaller and bigger communities all over the territory. At the moment, I live in Dawson City. I have worked with children since I'm a teenager and specialized in early years since I moved to the Yukon. In my work, I am passionate about land-based learning and co-learning along the children. I also loved telling stories. In my free time I enjoy hiking and traveling. I am looking forward to meeting you.
